Morning Workout !

Good Morning Hotties!!

It’s Monday everyone’s least favorite day of the week and not only is it the top of the work/school week, but it’s very rainy, cold and gloomy out here in Southern Connecticut, yuck. BUT we cannot let the day or the weather get in the way of our goals! This morning after sending my oldest two off to school, I prepared myself physically and mentally for my morning workout. I have to admit, I haven’t been on my routine lately, and I gave in to a few unhealthy food choices over the weekend but as the song goes, “We fall down but we get up!” So I’m back to shred some pounds and burn this fat!!

As usual, I make sure if I’m unable to get to the gym, I get my big booty in the living room, turn on YouTube and get dancing with  my favorite Zumba instructor Shani McGraham Shirley. She is a young hot mom of 3 living out of Kingston, Jamaica who fell in love with Zumba and decided to pursue it as a career. Shani is AWESOME to say the least! Her workouts are fun, sexy and will make you work up a serious sweat! After about 3 of her Zumba workouts I ended my cardio for the day. I typically do a good 15-20 minutes of cardio to get my blood going followed by (depending if I’m home or in the gym) some core workouts with weights, leg extensions with weights, dead lifts with weights and sometimes a trip to the sauna. The sauna is everything. It helps to open your pores, improves blood circulation, oxygenates the cells, organs and tissues throughout the body as well as gives your full body and mind complete relaxation.

Once my workout was complete I drank 8oz of ice cold cucumber infused water for hydration, and to keep my skin clear and healthy. For breakfast I had half a banana (before my work out)  the other half was blended in with 1/2 cup of blueberries and 1 cup of kale. I added ice and a half scoop of vanilla whey protein powder. YUM!

I try my hardest to stick to this routine at least three to four days a week. It’s not easy at all, especially with the kids, but making excuses will get me no where and I’m determined to lose this weight by Summer! Let’s go ladies!
